My Tips For Wearing Wrap Style Tops

Wrap style is one of my favorite necklines! Super flattering and great for curves. Just pay attention to the fit and you will be good!

And that’s what we are Mixing Up in this post!

I’m so into wrap style dresses and tops. However, if you got curves, you gotta watch the fit. No need for a wardrobe malfunction, right?

If you got curves, you gotta watch the fit.

Here’s what I do when I’m shopping for a wrap style top:

  1. Find the right size for your shape. I go a size bigger, if possible, so I have some room to move. Also, that helps make sure I have the right amount of coverage.
  2. Know how you will wear it before you buy it. Since this style is a little different, make sure it already goes with what you have. I think about at least two different bottoms that will work with this top.
  3. Make sure there’s some structure. I make sure the fabric can hold up the structure of the wrap style. Otherwise, this style can look like a hot mess on curves. Too clingy or thin fabric usually doesn’t give the structure I need. I want the wrap to skim me; not cling to me.

This one is from Maxx Studio and I bought it at TJ Maxx. I’m wearing a size XL. TJ Maxx items can run out of stock quick so I linked similar Maxx Studio wrap tops here, here, and here. If you have a TJ Maxx nearby, check in the store too! I linked similar wrap tops here, here, and here.

So don’t shy away from a wrap style top. Just find the right fit for you.

… Because getting dressed (and living life) should feel good!
