Burst of Color in the Rain

Rainy days often lead to just bundling up with whatever to stay dry. That can mean just grabbing a coat and going.

Instead, I like to use the opportunity to take a new spin on layering. Just needed my rain boots.

That’s what we are Mixing Up in this post.

I like to play with layers when I need to bundle up.

Let’s start with the coat. I usually stay away from quilted and puffy coats. They tend to add volume. This Target Merona Quilted Jacket is on the thinner side. Perfect for layering.

This jacket also has some stretch in it with the fabric panels on the side. I like that I can move in this jacket since it’s comfy. I am wearing an XL.

Just throwing on a jacket can be a bit boring.  I like to add a vibrant scarf.

This Abercrombie & Fitch Scarf adds some color. I don’t usually shop there but happened to be there with my 14 year-old daughter.

The next layer is a Sweater from H and M.  As I mentioned in another post , I do find some pieces that work at this store. Good spot for tunics and sweaters. I got a Large on. I like that the color is bold and works a variety of my other clothes.

Just throw it over my black Target C9 Leggings and I am ready to go!
Last item in the Mix, are my Hunter Rain Boots. I wanted these guys for awhile but hadn’t got around to buying them. I decided to go for it, Zappos had them at my house stat! I am loving that these boots are comfy and cute for those rainy days!

So, cue cheesy picture with an umbrella. Proof that this was taken on a rainy day.
